Siraat (“we”, “us”, “our”) helps Muslims track, analyse, and reflect on their daily prayers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through the Siraat website (siraat.org) and the My Siraat mobile app, how we use it, and the choices you have. We treat your worship data with the care and respect it deserves.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and an encrypted password. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your basic profile details (name and email) from Google to create or access your account. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Prayer and reflection data
The heart of Siraat is your prayer log. When you record a prayer, we store details you choose to provide — such as the prayer name, date and time, whether it was prayed on time or as qada, quality reflections (for example khushu, wudu, niyyah), rak’ahs, and any personal notes or reflections you write. This data is tied to your account so we can show you your history, streaks, and insights.
Usage information
We collect limited technical information such as device type, app version, and anonymised usage patterns to keep the service secure, diagnose problems, and improve the experience.
How we use your information
- To provide the core service — logging prayers and showing your history, streaks, and analytics.
- To generate AI-powered insights, coaching tips, and summaries based on your own prayer data.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To publish reflections you explicitly choose to share to the community feed.
- To communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests.
- To maintain, improve, and protect the safety and integrity of Siraat.
AI-generated insights
Some features use artificial intelligence to analyse your prayer data and produce summaries, encouragement, and coaching. These insights are generated for your benefit. We do not sell your prayer data, and we do not use your private prayer log to train third-party advertising models.
Community reflections
Reflections are private unless you choose to publish them. When you publish a reflection, the content you wrote, your chosen author name, and any data snippets you deliberately inserted become publicly visible. You can edit or delete your published reflections at any time.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with trusted service providers who help us operate Siraat (such as hosting, database, and AI processing providers), and only to the extent needed to deliver the service. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Data retention
We keep your account and prayer data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption of passwords and secure transmission over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continually to safeguard your information.
Your rights
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and data.
- Withdraw consent or object to certain processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].
Children’s privacy
Siraat is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or by email where appropriate.
